The Secret to Multitasking: How I fit in Study and Work into my Day

Hey there!

If you're anything like me, your day is packed from start to finish.

Between working on my PDF Sewing patterns, social media, sewing projects, cooking, paperwork, caring for family, squeezing in a workout, and maybe even a bit of relaxation, by the end of the day I'm knackered with no idea of where the time went.

I've enrolled on so many classes to improve my skills as I'm big on lifetime learning and showing up in my business the best I can.   I often talk about this on my Instagram stories about this and people are amazed at how I manage everything.

I'll share with you that how I cope is largely by multitasking! It became way easier for me when I found an unlikely helper - a tablet and phone stand! This stand has turned out to me more useful than I thought, It’s more than just a tripod—I'm using the thing everywhere.

My Daily Routine and how I use the Tablet & Phone Tripod Stand

So this is how I multitask in the day .

Morning Multitasking: Cooking and Learning

Mornings fly by and while making breakfast and prepping lunch, I l watch  This is Video School. Setting up the stand in the kitchen means I can have my iPad at the perfect height to watch videos while I cook or wash dishes, It’s so convenient not having to prop up my tablet with a stack of cookbooks!

Evening Relaxation: Bath and Movies

I get bored if I stay in the bath too long so. I bring the stand into the bathroom, set my iPad on it, and watch either a class or shock horror, actually relax and watch TV.  The stand holds the tablet at just the right angle, so I can completely relax without worrying about dropping my device into the water. I've been known to attend Zoom calls in the bath too and stressing whether I've turned the camera off, lol.

Creative Time: Sewing and Filming

When I'm sewing, this stand is so handy, I place it next to my sewing station, holding my iPad at eye level so I can follow along with sewing videos or check my notes without straining my neck. Plus, when I want to film a tutorial or go live on Instagram, I can set up my iPhone and iPad at the same time. The stand’s flexibility lets me capture everything from different angles. Great for filming for YouTube and Reels at the same time.

Staying Active: Exercising with Entertainment

Finding the motivation to work out can be tough, but watching my favorite shows while I exercise makes it easier. I use the stand to hold my iPad at home whether I’m on the exercise bike or doing cardio.

Study Sessions: Learning and Designing

I’m currently taking a digital pattern drafting and pattern grading course with Confident Patternmaking and having this stand has been a game-changer. I use it by my desk to hold my iPad to watch the class while I work on my Adobe illustrator pattern designs on my monitor.  I can easily switch between screens with my Logitech MX Master 3 mouse. If I change my phone or tablet later, as the holders are adjustable different devices will still fit.

More Ways to Use Tablet/Phone Tripod Stand

Even if your routine is different from mine, there are countless ways this stand can make your life easier:

  1. Virtual Meetings: Perfect for those long Zoom meetings. Keep your tablet at eye level and stay comfortable.
  2. Reading: Enjoy your eBooks hands-free, with the stand holding your device at the perfect angle.
  3. Kid’s Entertainment: Keep the kids entertained safely by setting up their favorite shows or educational apps on the stand.
  4. Crafting: Follow DIY tutorials without having to prop your tablet up with makeshift stands.
  5. Photography and Filming: Ideal for taking steady shots and filming creative videos.

So that's my secret! I'm still working too hard and studying too long, but this stand has been a great help.
